Wise Journey Support was founded by a gay man who navigated the UK's complex systems the hard way — so you don't have to.
William, founder of Wise Journey Support.
Wise Journey Support started from a simple but powerful place — the frustration of navigating UK government systems as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Benefits, housing — systems that should be there to help, but often feel designed to confuse, gatekeep, and exhaust you.
We built WJS to change that. Plain English guidance, no jargon, no judgment — and a genuine understanding of what it means to go through the system as a gay, lesbian, bi, trans, or queer person in the UK. All benefits guidance remains completely free, always.
"We all have a right to know."
And then we went further. WJS is now also a local work hub. We take bookings across Lambeth for 24-hour laundry, cleaning, errands, handyman on request and day care, using non-harmful, eco-conscious products. Jobs are done by us or passed to trusted independent local workers, helping us find more work for local people.
WJS is proudly LGBTQ+ founded and run, and we're just getting started.
Freedom starts with knowing.
That's not just a tagline. It's the reason WJS exists. Government guidance made simple, professionals you can trust, and a community that has your back.
Everything we do is built around the LGBTQ+ community. Our professionals, our guidance, our values — all of it starts here.
Your identity, your relationship, your situation — none of our business unless you want it to be. We're here to help, full stop.
No jargon, no confusing forms. Everything explained simply so you can make informed decisions about your life.
Laundry and cleaning with non-harmful products. No shortcuts, no compromises.
WJS isn't just a service. It's a community — practical help and honest guidance from people who understand what you're going through.
All benefits guidance is free. Concessions available. Because everyone deserves help, regardless of their financial situation.
